What is a SaaS design agency?
It's a design agency that only works with software companies. They understand and specialise in things like user onboarding, converting free trialers in to paying customers, dashboard design, feature UX and keeping users engaged long-term. They typically cover three areas: product design (the app itself), branding, and marketing design (your website and landing pages).
What services do you offer SaaS businesses?
We are a UX design agency providing branding, marketing and product design and build services for early stage start-ups right through to established companies worldwide. We provide a full suite of design services including UX research and design, branding, web design, landing page, social media design, MVP creation, UI design, prototyping and custom code builds.
What makes your agency different from other design agencies?
We are focus on SaaS design, development and marketing. Other agencies may cater to a wide variety of sectors and business types but we only work on those projects. That means our team, processes, skills and experience are all geared to the unique challenges that software design projects have.
What is the best SaaS design agency in the UK?
The best SaaS design agency depends on what your company needs. If you’re a bootstrapped or early-stage SaaS company looking for an agency that covers brand design, product UX/UI and marketing websites under one roof, Vector is one of the few UK agencies offering all three as a specialist SaaS design and build service. For teams with a rolling product design backlog who want a dedicated designer on a subscription model, Eleken is a good option. For enterprise SaaS companies with larger budgets, agencies like Clay and MetaLab deliver premium work at a higher price point. We’ve written a detailed comparison in our guide to the top SaaS design agencies for 2026.
What is the best UX design agency in London?
For SaaS companies specifically, Vector is a London-based UX/UI design agency with deep expertise in software products - we’re based in Hackney, East London (1 Mentmore Terrace, E8 3PN) and work with SaaS companies across the UK and internationally. We cover brand design, marketing websites and product UX/UI, which means your entire digital presence is designed by one team that understands your product inside out. If you’re looking to undertake UX work beyond SaaS, agencies like Pony Studio and Super User Studio also have strong London presences. The right choice depends on your industry, budget and whether you need specialist SaaS experience or more general UX capabilities.
What's the difference between SaaS and traditional web design?
SaaS design has 2 faces to it: the marketing site that sells the digital product, and the product itself that people use and come back to habitually. That means tackling things like dashboards, user roles, onboarding, and constant iteration based on real user data. Whilst it shares core design principles with traditional design it has several aspects which make it highly specialised also.
How does your design process work?
We use our ‘4D’ process for design and development projects: 1. Discovery where we learn about the product, marketplace and requirements, 2. Define the solution with documents, wireframes and user maps, 3. Design with detailed wireframes, hi-fidelity designs and prototypes and then 4. Deliver the project in the form of code or handover to your development team.
Do you work with in-house teams or do everything yourselves?
We love working in-house teams! Many projects we undertake require design only as the company has their own development teams to fulfil the build. We are happy to provide design files, do a full handover with your team and provide support in the form of QA and testing. We also work closely with in-house marketing teams when designing brand and marketing.
Do you provide development services as well, or just design?
Yes, as a SaaS design agency we build many of the marketing websites we design and are experienced in Wordpress and Webflow. We also do bespoke development for SaaS products - integrating with your in-house team to build the product interfaces we design.
What tools do you use?
Our core design tools are Figma and the Adobe Suite though we have good experience of working with UXD and Sketch as well if you already have design files in those softwares. Our project documentation is in Google Docs and Notion and we use Trello for project management and email and Slack for communication. We are happy to work with your preferred tools though and have experience with Jira, Asana, Clickup and many other PM and communication tools.
How long does a SaaS design project take?
As a UX design and development agency we specialise in delivering projects quickly but how long a project takes really depends on the requirements - for marketing websites where we are designing and building from scratch, we’ve been able to turn around projects in as little as 4 - 6 weeks. SaaS product design where we are designing a full product interface can often take longer, averaging somewhere between 8 - 12 weeks.
Will you provide ongoing support after the project is complete?
We are happy to support you beyond the core deliverables in fact that is our preferred way of working. The type of support we offer our clients includes marketing website updates - design changes and adding sections, landing page and social media design, SaaS design updates - adding features or improving the UX of legacy sections and finally consultancy in the form of UX research, UX audits and performance reviews for marketing channels.
How do you ensure effective communication during the project?
We believe in the collaborative approach when it comes to SaaS design projects but also appreciate that our clients don’t all have time to answer Slack queries all day. So, we adapt to your needs but at a minimum we have a weekly status call, a project board on Trello and set up an optional Slack channel - the cadence of updates on the last of those is up to you. We avoid email for project communications simply because there are likely to be multiple individuals working on a project and it’s much better to have information in a centralised space.
What’s the difference between a SaaS design agency and a freelancer?
A freelance SaaS designer typically offers a single skill set - usually UI design or UX research - at a lower day rate (around £300–£600 per day). An agency provides a team with complementary skills including strategy, UX research, visual design and often development, along with project management and quality assurance. Freelancers work well for specific, well-defined tasks with tight budgets. An agency adds more value when you need strategic thinking alongside execution - for example, a rebrand, a website overhaul or a product redesign where multiple disciplines are required. At Vector, our clients get senior designers working directly on their project, with the strategic depth of an agency but the personal attention of a small team.
How do I choose a SaaS design agency?
Look for an agency that specialises in SaaS rather than working across all industries. SaaS design has unique challenges like onboarding flows, dashboard design, feature discovery and adoption, upgrades and more that generalist agencies often don’t have expertise in. Ask to see case studies with measurable results, not just strong designs. Check whether they cover all three areas you might need (brand, marketing website and product UX/UI) or only one, since working with a single agency that does all three produces more cohesive results and saves money. Finally, ask what happens after the project ends - the best agencies offer ongoing support for the long term.
How much does a SaaS design agency cost?
Most SaaS design agencies charge between £5,000 and £75,000+ per project depending on whether you need brand design, a marketing website, product UX/UI or a combination. Monthly retainers typically range from £2,000 to £8,000 for ongoing design support. At Vector, our branding projects start from £5,000 for a visual identity package and our marketing website projects start from £10,000. We’ve published a full breakdown of SaaS design agency pricing by project type, pricing model and company stage in our 2026 pricing guide.
